An insurrection with which all sections of the people sympathize, will hardly recur; in the class struggle all the middle sections will never group themselves round the proletariat so exclusively that the reactionary parties gathered round the bourgeoisie well-nigh disappear. The people, therefore, will always appear divided, and with this a powerful lever, so extraordinarily effective in 1848, is lacking.
